Engineering Annoyances

One of the drinking fountains here at work has a plastic "pushbutton" (more like a bar, actually) at the front. No big deal, normally - push it, water comes out, drinking commences. Unfortunately, that plastic pushbutton doesn't conduct electricity - well, duh, right?

The subtle issue here is that the first path to ground occurs when one's lips touch the water, since that water is provided through a grounded water pipe. In the winter time, under high-static conditions, this makes for a briefly uncomfortable situation.
